Why to join EERA JP Smart Grids?

The EERA Joint Programme on Smart Grids is a collaboration among major European universities and public research organizations aimed to accelerate Smart Grids development and deployment in Europe, in line with the goals of the Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET-Plan). As a member of EERA and JP on Smart Grids you can work together with expert colleagues from all over Europe on commonly defined research priorities, make new contacts and advance your own research.


How to join EERA JP Smart Grids?

MEMBERSHIP CRITERIA

EERA membership is open to any entity or organisation actively involved in energy research with seat and main administration in a member state of the EU, a candidate country of the EU or a country associated to the EU framework programme for research & innovation.

Organizations must comply with one of the following criteria:

  • Public body: your organization must be a formally established organization that is at least in part publicly funded to deliver a public or government service, though not as ministerial department.
  • Non-profit organization: your organization must be recognised as a non-profit legal entity research organization or equivalent under the EU framework programme for research and innovation. The definition can be found in the Horizon Europe Rules for Participation, Article 2(18).
  • A group of entities: your organization must be a group of entities (“umbrella organization”) composed of the entities described in either or both of the other two criteria. The group of entities must be legally constituted or have legal capacity under its national legislation.

HOW TO APPLY

Two pillars 

To be part of EERA JP on Smart Grids it means to join first the EERA community, which is based on two pillars:

Both pillars are mandatory – it is not possible to participate to EERA JP on Smart Grids without to be a member of EERA Aisbl.

To apply for the membership to EERA JP Smart Grid you need to fill in this application form and send it to the EERA JP SG Operation & Communication Manager (m.menon@eera-set.eu). The JP SG will then need to evaluate and, in case, approve the application.

TYPE OF MEMBERSHIP

It is possible to join the JP on Smart Grids as associate or full member.

Associate member:

  • Pays a reduced annual JP membership fee
  • Pays a reduced annual overall EERA aisbl membership fee

Full member:

  • Pays a full annual JP membership fee
  • Pays a full annual overall EERA aisbl membership fee
